In their new work textures of tears, cowbirds create a fluid space between tradition and fiction. Narratives and sounds from archetypical chants are deconstructed and reassembled. Shared lamentations, cries and questions drip from leaking vessels. Bodies and voices meet, dissolve, and reconnect—in new narratives and resonances. The four women create space for the untold and hold their breath—for a language beyond language.
